CELERY, TALL UTAH

The most popular green celery; the same tender, string-free variety found in food markets. Produces broad, thick stalks with a rich, nutty flavor. Cool weather vegetable. This packet will plant more than 80 plants.

Start indoors 10 weeks before outdoor planting date. Broadcast evenly over well-watered soil and cover lightly. When 2 inches tall, thin to 2 inches apart. Transplant outdoors when the plants are 4 inches tall. Place in well-cultivated soil and keep watered.

Celery demands cool weather, so allow enough time for it to mature before summer's heat or winter's freeze. Before harvesting, blanch for 2 weeks to promote added tenderness.
