PARSLEY, HAMBURG THICK ROOTED

The edible part is the root which looks much like a small parsnip. The root has a pleasing flavor similar to parsnip, but with a faint suggestion of celery. A great favorite for flavoring soups and stews. High in vitamins A and C.

Sow 1 seed per inch in a row in full sun and well-drained soil. Cover seeds firmly with soil. Thin to 8 inches apart when plants are 2 inches tall. Doesn't like transplanting.

Try sowing a few fast germinating radish seeds along with parsley to mark the row. Can stand some frost. Roots can be stored in sand for winter use.
