CUCUMBER, SPACEMASTER
Bushes of compact vines and runners require only 1/3 the space normally needed for cucumbers. Fruits are tasty, dark green and uniform at 7 1/2 to 8 inches long. Mosaic-resistant plants produce heavy yields. This packet will produce approximately 19 plants.
After all danger of frost and when ground is warm, sow seeds 5 inches apart. Choose an area with full sun and well-drained soil. Thin to 1 plant every 15 inches when they are 2 inches tall. Plant at 3 week intervals up to midsummer for fresh cucumbers all season. Keep fruits picked.
Cucumbers need lots of sunshine and water. Keep weeds to a minimum with an organic mulch, straw, hay or leaves. Perfect for patio containers - try 3 plants in a 12-inch pot.
